You want to know which products are selling and which ones aren’t. You also want to track your traffic, which you can do through your hosting company.

That way, if you have three blogs and only two of them are generating revenue, you need to know why. Is the third blog not getting as much traffic? Niche marketing isn’t just about selling; it’s about tracking and testing and performing research on a consistent basis.

Do yourself a favor and set up your tracking system for your niche marketing business from the outset. While you may know that you made $100 in one week, it is crucial that you know how you earned that money.

Tracking Your Success Equals More Success

Tracking your success and even your lack of success will inevitably lead to more success because you will be noticing what is working and what is not working and hopefully, changing things accordingly.

You may discover that one niche just isn’t going to work out at all or you may discover that it merely needs more attention. Maybe there isn’t enough content on one website to pull in adequate search engine traffic.

By constantly measuring your progress, you will be able to adjust your niche marketing empire and ensure its success.

You will want to experiment with different types of ads, different placement schemes, and of course, different products. Track these experiments so that you will immediately know what works the best.

Internet marketers and niche marketers are constantly testing so they will always put their best foot forward. Since you enter into no commitment when you join affiliate programs, it is easy to drop one and add another or drop one product and choose another. By tracking both your success and your failures, you will find even more success.

While you don’t need to buy fancy software to track your niche marketing success, you do need to get organized right from the beginning. As part of your overall business planning, you should set up a tracking mechanism so you can tell at a glance how much money you are earning and exactly how you are earning it.

Make a Spreadsheet

If you don’t already have Excel or another spreadsheet application, you can find free spreadsheet applications online that you can download and use to track your niche marketing success. While there is plenty of good tracking software available online that you might want to eventually purchase once you have achieved a certain degree of success, there is no need to go into debt just when you’re getting started. The important thing is to keep accurate records.

What Your Spreadsheet should Contain

The good thing about making a spreadsheet from scratch is that you can customize it to fit your needs. You’re going to want to list all of your websites or blogs, their addresses, user names and passwords and then you will want to include your marketing information. Each affiliate program you have signed up with will provide you with stats that you can easily transfer to your spreadsheet. You will want to list the name of the affiliate program, the products you promote, number of sales, rate of commission, and the money you have earned. You may also include other categories that are important to you.

As you prepare to roll out your niche websites, keyword usage is one of the most important things to think about. Using the right keywords to reach your target market is essential and in order to find the most effective keywords and key phrases, you’ll need to use keyword research tools. However, putting these keywords to use in your website copy and other marketing materials is another story; and it’s a skill which you’ll need to develop as a niche marketer.

Punctuation and the Search Engines

Google and other search engines don’t care about punctuation (though your readers might). For example, “Baltimore. Maryland” and “Baltimore, Maryland” are the same thing to the search engines. Keep this in mind as you try to work your keywords into your copy. Sometimes you’ll end up with some rather strange keyword phrases, but the trick is to use punctuation to make these keywords make sense in context. If you need to, add conjunctions (and, or, etc.) which the search engines don’t pay a lot of attention to in order to make your keywords make sense.

Quality Matters

If you want to be successful in niche marketing, you need to make sure that your content is good enough to make people want to return to your site to learn more. While it’s great to get your keywords worked into your content, that shouldn’t be the aim of your content – the idea is to provide readers with high quality content which they’ll actually want to read. Make the readers your first priority and keywords your second.

If you’re having a hard time writing good content around your keywords, then try to write without thinking about your keywords. Instead, focus on getting your message across to your readers. Once you’ve written this material, look it over and see if you’ve managed to work in your keywords without even trying; you can then fine tune your content to get your keywords in there. Keep in mind that if your content is good, the keywords shouldn’t jump out at readers – it should simply be enjoyable to read and/or informative.

Refine Your Keyword Usage as Needed

Once you’ve gotten your content live on your site, watch your statistics to see what keywords are bringing people to your site. If needed, tweak your content to incorporate these keywords and phrases. Remember that you can always alter your site content in order to get better results; it’s not set in stone. You may find that you need to reduce the density of keywords in some pieces and increase it in others. Keeping an eye on your statistics will help you to ensure that your niche marketing efforts bring you healthy returns.

The Internet is a big place and there are thousands of people competing with you. If you just focus on broad categories of people, such as adults or homeowners, you’ll probably get lost in the vast sea of other people promoting to this same enormous group. However, by narrowing your focus, you’ll get traffic that‘s much more likely to convert. For example, instead of focusing on people with pets, focus on cat owners who want to feed their pets a natural diet, or dog owners who want to buy sports-themed clothing for Fido and Spot. It’s important to know how to find a niche market specifically for the product you’re promoting, and if that hasn’t got a lot of competition marketing to it already, your chances of making sales will go up a lot higher.

The more narrow you can make your promotional focus, the better you’ll do. Your websites may not get as many clicks as you’re used to seeing, but those clicks will be far more valuable to you. With niche marketing, you’ll see your conversion rates go up and your bank account swell. All it takes to use niche marketing to increase your earnings is a little time to research which niches are potentially the most profitable. Then, you can tweak your campaigns to focus on your chosen niches and watch the money roll in.

You can achieve niche marketing success much more quickly if you have a solid plan. Affiliate marketers everywhere know that narrowing down your marketing focus to a specific niche group of people gives you a much better chance of seeing those affiliate marketing riches you’ve been seeking. Narrowing the number of people you market to may seem counter-intuitive at first. After all, conventional wisdom says you want to reach the largest number of people possible in order to get sales. However, in affiliate marketing, this strategy could limit your income.

If you want to make a splash with modern communication technology, now is the time to bring back those creative writing skills. Business owners and niche market affiliates have been able to utilize information-based marketing for years and it’s still extremely popular today. It’s a very effective technique that has enticed targeted prospects to visit your site and become a buyer. This is just one of the many reasons why article marketing, submissions, and publications are still popular today.

However, the innovations of today have made the distribution process much easier. It’s also given your content the ability to get more exposure.

While this is true you don’t want to get caught up with the common mistakes that several individuals make before submitting their content to an article directory. Here are a few of them below:

1. Confusing Promoting with Writing

When it comes to article marketing there are 3 major components; branding, lead generation, and promotion. Each one of them deals with optimization efforts.

Anytime you write an article it’s built and created to inform your audience. If you can’t figure out how to make this the primary goal of your article then failure is right around the corner. In most cases the individuals reading your information won’t be interested at all.

Getting people to read your information is the first course of action. The second is enticing them to click on the link in your resource box. Those who have better content are able to do this with ease.

2. Not being able to maximize your article marketing promotional efforts

By now you probably know that your articles will help you generate more links back to your site. This is important, but there are other benefits as well. One of them is being able to get more visitors and search engine results from the same article.

Just by adding keywords in specific places can be a great strategy. Now, you don’t want to overdo them, but definitely put them places like in the title as well as the first and last paragraph. Some people use anchor texts, but not all directories allow this feature.

Even though backlinks are great, article directories offer much more. If you do well you can get picked up by publishers who have larger audiences. This gives you the ability to gain leverage over other brands since the quality of your work is better. Plus the better your search engine results are the more you will benefit.

Unfortunately these aren’t the things that put a lot of money in your pocket. You have to look at all the other factors that can boost your earnings, as opposed to just increasing the amount of visitors that come to your site. You need a plan and one that will see your article provide several benefits.

3. Unhelpful content you publish

When you write articles maybe there was a time when you thought they would only be used for backlinks. This is definitely important, but you want more than the amount of visitors they can give you.

You also have to consider the fact that a lot of the article banks and directories out there are not going to accept content automatically. There are usually guidelines and specifications that come with submitting the articles.

Did you know you can double the number of sites you can submit too if the directory share with other people. If a person has hundreds of thousands of readers your potential could be increased overnight.

The most important thing here is to write articles that publishers want in their publications. It’s the most effective way to utilize article marketing, but keep in mind that the standard guidelines must be obeyed. Take the time to spell check and definitely research your topic. If you don’t have the time to do this on your own then hire a good quality writer to do it for you.

What it comes down to is how you choose to make your article marketing work. If you want a little exposure on a basic level then you can do this with ease. If you want that massive exposure in a shorter period of time you have to do the extra work with your content to make it happen.

It’s all up to you and it’s important to understand that article directories are not meant to have the same level of exposure. If you want highly targeted content then you have to take the appropriate steps to make it work.

Once you’re able to learn the difference you will know what kinds of niche market articles to write for your viewers and the best places to submit them.

By now you’ve probably heard about niche market affiliate programs where people can sell someone else’s products and earn commissions off the transactions. Whoever the advertiser might be, they allow the affiliate to place a link on their website and in turn the advertiser gets traffic from it. If you’re the affiliate and a sale is created through your traffic a commission is earned. Everyone thinks this is really easy, but unfortunately it can be like pulling teeth!

There are plenty of ups and downs to affiliate marketing. Maybe you’re not armed with updated information, but the goal here today is to change all that and give you the “how-to” feeling. Affiliate marketing can be great, and we’re definitely not here to bad mouth it.

So why do web marketers go crazy over affiliate marketing?

1. It’s Cheap!

Yes, when you venture out into the unknown it’s hard to be comfortable spending a lot of money. Affiliate marketing allows people to build an online business without investing too much on the frontend.

2. No Inventory

You’ve probably heard this before, but when you don’t have to deal with any inventory it provides less work. This means you don’t have to deal with the customer, the shipping of the product, or anything else except promoting it.

3. Unlimited Income through Leverage

If you have a “real world” job as some call it, your monthly income is dictated by whether or not you go to work. When you take advantage of affiliate marketing it only requires you to lead traffic to your site, and you don’t have to do anything else but produce ad copy and a link to direct consumers. Keep in mind not everyone earns an unlimited amount of dough, but it is possible.

4. Using the Global Market

Those who use affiliate marketing are not isolated to their local town, city, or state. Heck, you aren’t even stuck with promoting to your own country. The Internet allows you to choose a niche, prepare everything, and promote to anywhere around the world.

5. The Low Risk

If you look closely, affiliate marketing is something anyone can do. Since the cost is low and there isn’t any inventory, the only thing you have to worry about losing is time. Even individuals who are on a strict budget can open up to utilizing affiliate marketing.

6. Open All Year Round and 24/7

People have probably told you that one of the biggest benefits to affiliate marketing is that you can make sales at any time. So maybe you go to sleep tonight with no sales, and wake up in the morning with 10. You just never know what’s going to happen, but it’s a huge benefit.

Even though these are all great reasons, your hard work can be wasted if you don’t have the right niche product from the very beginning. You also need the right tools to be successful in affiliate marketing. Whether it’s an organized SEO website, the understanding of certain niche marketing tactics or anything else, you have to do this first before you can push forward in those other areas.
